Srinagar: Prompt and swift action by officials foiled an attempt to steal away 100 KVA transformer att lane no.2 rose Avenue colony HMT Srinagar.

Officials said that the thieves had come well equipped and had brought a truck to carry it as well.

“Police station Parimpora recieved a written complaint from PDD Department stating that few notorious persons identified as Shafiq Ahmad Khan R/o nawakadal ,Mohd Yousuf beigh s/o mohd Maqbol beigh R/o Dombipora soibugh Budgam along with their associates attempted to steal one 100 kva transformer in uncharged state, ” officials told Indian News Service.

Police officials told INS that the ‘mischievous persons were fully equipped & had brought a vehicle bearing redg no jko2v 7379 to carry the said transformer.’

In a swift action the theft was foiled. The prompt action due to the swift action of ‘site engineer of M/S Gopikrishan & PMA who was supervising the on Going works in the adjacent areas the theft attempt was foiled.’
