rinagar: Civil Society Forum for Health. Kashmir has impressed upon authorities to enforce COVID test screening for the new variant Omicron for all international travellers on top most priority. Terming the mutation of COVID-19 virus into Omicron as an alarming new challenge and a matter of grave concern, a spokesman of the Society has called for immediate necessary measures to curb its entry and spread at the initial stage by screening the arrival of all international and domestic travellers at the Srinagar airport.

In a press statement, CSFK appealed the health and civil authorities of the J&K to undertake vigorous testing and ensure implementation of COVID protocol and social distancing on topmost priority for all international and domestic travellers. The spokesman called for testing and screening of all such passengers for COVID symptoms like fever, coughing, body ache, general weakness etc. He urged prompt response at the initial stage to stop the entry and spread of this new variant in J&K.
