‘Abla-Naari myth broken, Women real power of modern society: Dr Darakhshan

jammu, Nov 28: Chairperson, Waqf Development Committee of Union Ministry of Minority Affairs Dr Darakhshan Andrabi and FICCI J&K Chairperson Rani Ritu Singh today flagged off a marathon race at Hari Nivas Palace in Jammu. This race was organised by Ficci for giving the message of women’s empowerment in the society. Thirteen kilometer long race was attended by hundreds of women from Jammu and a few male runners also attended the race in solidarity with the women power. Rani Ritu Singh said that Fikki has been working in the region for women empowerment and a fit and healthy society for many years. Dr Darakhshan Andrabi, after flagging off the race said that women in modern times have proved by their power and ability that they were not any more desperate and weak creatures but were the real support of the society. “Woman has broken the myth of Abla Nari as she is now in commanding position in the society. Government schemes and programmes have also empowered her greatly. Indian woman has shown her mettle in every sphere of life”, said Dr Andrabi. She said that education and information mechanisms have equipped Indian woman with awareness about their rights and their capabilities, but still much needed to be done. Dr Darakhshan said that Indian woman power fetched honours to us at Tokyo Olympics recently. “Sportspersons like young Ankita Raina are an inspiration for young girls of J&K and we all need to encourage talented girls in J&K to excel in different sports events so that on one hand they feel empowered and on the other hand more women power of UT gets inspired to fulfill their dreams at national and international platforms”, said Andrabi. Dr Darakhshan hailed the efforts of Ficci and it’s Chairperson Rani Ritu Singh Ji for doing great service on ground for women er empowerment in J&K. Many prominent citizens and personalities were present on the occasion.
