RAMBAN: District Development Commissioner, Ramban, Mussarat Islam today distributed specially designed Scooties to physically challenged person. District Social Welfare Officer, Abdul Wahid and other officers besides locals were present on the occasion. The DSWO informed that a total of 16 Scooties have been distributed in the district provided by the J&K State Rehabilitation Council.

 

After the inauguration of UT level function by the lieutenant Governer at jammu deputy commissioner ramban also handed over Scooties to 16 beneficiaries.

 

Other dignitaries present on the occasion include ADDC Ramban, Rajinder Singh, ACP Swarn Singh and other concerned officers.

Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy commissioner Ramban said that the Department has launched many welfare schemes especially for underprivileged and other weaker sections. He said the Department is committed to provide every possible help to the needy and specially abled persons. He said the department earlier also distributed same type of Scooties to the needy ones in other parts of the district after due screening of their disability status.

 

Beneficiaries who received scooters today hailed the initiative of the department. They said this will prove a major helping hand for their future survival.
