Police and paramilitary personnel have heightened security arrangements across Kashmir Valley, in particular the Srinagar, ahead of the August 15, marking the 75th anniversary of the India’s Independence from British.
, police and paramilitary men were seen stopping and searching vehicles at several places while people were queued up and subjected to frisking.
Apart from frisking people thoroughly, the men in uniform were also seen checking I-cards of some people.
Police also carried out a successful trial of drones to be used for aerial surveillance on August 15
Police said aerial surveillance helps keep a close watch on the suspects. It also helps to further strengthen the multi-layer security cover that is put in place on the occasion of august 15 and January 26
As per officials, drones were successfully tested within 2 km radius of Lal Chowk area.
