As part of the exercise, the Divisional Covid-19 Control Room Kashmir (DCCRK), enforced with the task, has been carrying out the mantle of educating the public about various preventive health measures through a series of animated videos aimed at sensitizing general masses about various important health-related issues.

The DCCRK has been highlighting the importance of Covid-19 vaccination, 100 percent vaccination achievement in above 45 years of age group in Kashmir division besides countering the fake or concocted news about vaccination, redressing vaccine hesitancy and tele-counseling general population. It is also running call centers for any help regarding Covid-19 related issues.

It also added a new dimension to address the rising number of mental health issues in the general public through Digital Display Signage in Srinagar city where warning signals of mental health issues are depicted in the messages.

To address the mental health issues emerging due to Covid, the control room has circulated 24/7 mental health helpline no.0194 2455384 through which free Tele Psychiatric Counseling is provided to the general public.

The official spokesperson said that the helpline has opened a window of opportunity to these patients who are willing to take such tele-consultation on mental health issues at home. He added that the Mental Health Counseling was launched in view of the growing concern among the general public regarding mental health issues.

He further said DCCRK is collaborating with Child Guidance and Well-being Centre (CGWC), which is a part of child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Institute of Mental Health and Neuro-Science (IMHANS), Government Medical College, Srinagar.
