JKPL Edition 1: Mayid Rayan Warriors, Elegant Strikers Win Matches

Srinagar : Two matches were played in the ongoing JKPL Edition 1 at Green Valley Educational Institution Ground on Tuesday.

The first match was played between Elegant Strikers and Shape Up fitness. After winning the toss, Elegant Strikers decided to bat first and posted a total of 192 runs for the loss of 8 wickets. Khalid scored 48 of 25 balls which includes 5 sixes while Asim Bashir scored 35 of 19 balls.For Shape up fitness Gowhar Rashid took 4 wickets. Chasing the target, Shape up fitness managed 159 for the loss of 8 wickets. Gowhar Rashid 43 of 25 balls and Junaid Farooq made 37 of just 22 balls which include 6 huge sixes. For Elegant Strikers Syed Sagar was pick of the bowlers and claimed 3 wickets giving only 9 runs in 4 overs. Syed Sagar for his outstanding bowling performance was declared as Man of the Match.

The second match was played between Mayid Rayan Warriors and Kanwal LBSCC. Kanwal won the toss and elected to bat. They posted a target of 170 runs for the loss of 7 wickets. KL Riyaz (38 of 26 balls) and Emaad Ashiq (31 of 20 balls) were among the leading run scorers. For Mayid Rayan Warriors Aquib Nabi took 2 wickets. Mayid Rayan warriors comfortably chased down the target in 15 overs and lost only 4 wickets. Imtiyaz (64 of 38) and Henan Malik (43 of 30 not out) were top scorers for their team. Basit Lone took 3 wickets for Kanwal LBSCC. Imtiyaz for his outstanding allround performance was adjudged as man of the match.
