Srinagar, July 23: A top Lashkar-e-Toiba Commander among two militants killed in a gunfight at Warpora area of Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district. Police said on Friday.
Police identified the “commander” as Fayaz War while identity of another militant, said to be local, has not been revealed officially.
The gunfight, police said, had ensued after a joint team of Police, Army’s 22 RR and CRPF launched a joint cordon-and-search-operation amid specific input about presence of some militants in area.
Police said they the duo was offered surrender but they refused.
