Army commemorates victory of 1971 Indo-Pak war

HANDWARA:  Army on Friday commemorated  victory of 1971 Indo-Pak War while Qaziabad Tigers’ under ‘The Rajwar Sector’ received the ‘Swarnim Vijay Mashal’ at Udipura, Langate of Kupwara District in North Kashmir.

 

The ‘Swarnim Vijay Mashal’ was lighted by the honorable Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi Ji on 16 December 2020 at the National War Memorial, New Delhi, report said.

The events kick started with a one mile commemorative run, organsied to carry the Mashal to Army Camp, Langate.

The Mashal was carried by Security Forces personnel, Civil Dignitaries, NCC Cadets, Scouts and Guides and School Children.

‘Swarnim Vijay Mashal’ with entourage’, on reaching Army Camp, Langate received grand welcome. The Mashal was paid homage by Wreath Laying at Army Camp Langate War Memorial by Security Forces Personnel, 1971 War Veterans, War Widows, Ex-Servicemen, Veer Naris, Civil Dignitaries and Commander Rajwar Sector.

The Mashal was later established on stage and the event was celebrated by the Cultural Programmes and Felicitation of 1971 War Veterans, War Widows and Veer Naris by Commander, Rajwar Sector. The event witnessed huge participation from Army, BSF, CRPF, JKP, Civil Administration, NCC Cadets, Scouts and Guides and Children who performed various events and graced the occasion.

On completion of the celebrations at Army Camp, Langate, the Swarnim Vijay Mashal’ proceeded for its further journey. The event filled hearts of the Awam with pride for the nation and respect for the martyrs of 1971 War.
