Advisor Baseer inaugurates Park at Palwan Akhnoor developed by Floriculture department

JAMMU, JUNE 23: Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Baseer Ahmed Khan today inaugurated a park at Palwan Akhnoor which is developed on around 18 Kanal land by the department of Floriculture.
Commissioner Secretary Floriculture, Parks and Garden, Sheikh Fayaz; Director Floriculture, Jatinder Singh; Deputy Director, Executive Engineers, PRI members and locals were present on the occasion.
It was informed that the work was started in 2012-13 with an estimated cost of Rs. 152.50 Lacs on an area of 18 kanals of land. The park has various features like, round water body, walk way, garden benches, illumination system LED lights, Sprinkler irrigation system, dust bins, electric transformer etc.
He directed the concerned officers to ensure beautification of the temple shed which is in the premises of park. He also issued directions for planting trees for the shade on the boundaries of park.
Meanwhile, he also interacted with the locals, PRIs and listened to the grievances. The PRIs raised various concerns of public importance. The Advisor assured the local representatives and the public present on the occasion that all their genuine demands will be considered and action shall be taken on each in a time bound manner.
Commissioner Secretary informed the Advisor that all the ongoing works executed by floriculture department will be completed in four months. The Advisor directed the officers to maintain quality of work and emphasized on the overall beautification of the parks of such nature. The Advisor expressed satisfaction over the working of floriculture department and directed the officers to maintain the quality standards.
The Advisor also urged the public to maintain cleanliness of park and make use of the dustbins.
