Accused in minor’s rape case arrested: Police

Baramulla: Police on Friday said that they have arrested the accused in the minor’s rape in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

Police said that the accused was evading arrest and was full ‘aware of his act’.

The arrest was made after father of the accused filed a complaint with police that his minor daughter, about 14 years of age, has been molested. The accused was identified by the father of minor girl. He has been identified as a resident of Odina Pattan.

“On this written complaint case FIR was registered in Police Station Pattan under relevant sections of law. The accused however, was well aware about his act and was trying to evade his arrest. Police Party of Police Post Mirgund acted swiftly and arrested the accused,” police said.

Further investigation in the case has been launched.
