Arrangements for Jumat-ul-Vida, Shab-e-Qadr, Eid-ul-Fitr reviewed

SRINAGAR, MAY 05: The Additional Commissioner (Add Com), Kashmir, Qazi Sarwar today convened a meeting of senior officers of divisional administration to review arrangements for celebrations of ensuing Jumat-ul-Vida, Shab-e-Qadr and Eid-ul-Fitr.
The Add Com instructed Director FCS&CA to ensure quality mutton is sold across Kashmir markets and ensure that it is being sold at government approved rates.
In order to contain the spread of Covid-19, he directed concerned to ensure that people adopt appropriate covid behaviour and proper SOPs including social distancing is maintained at all religious places during the prayers.
The Add Com instructed for conducting rigorous market checking to curb sale of sub-standard food items, black marketing and profiteering. He said that the erring shopkeepers should be booked as per the law.
FCS&CA was directed to ensure availability of ration like Rice, flour, Sugar, K-oil and LPG cylinders in buffer stock on these occasions as per notified rates of standard quality.
PDD and PHE authorities were instructed to ensure uninterrupted electricity and water supply on these occasions.
He exhorted upon the SMC to launch a cleanliness drive at the mosques, shrines, besides ensuring that all street lights are made functional.
He also directed that fool-proof arrangements are put in place for smooth celebrations of Jumat-ul-Vida, Shab-e-Qadr and Eid-ul-Fitr.
The meeting among others was attended by CEO Muslim Waqf Board, Director FCS&CA, Director Sheep and Animal Husbandry, SSP Srinagar, SP Headquarter, JC Legal Metrology, DC Drug, DySP Traffic Rural and other concerned.
