Srinagar, March 26: Three shops and as many rooms housing office by a government department were gutted in a devastating fire in Kalaroos area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Friday, officials said.

They said that fire erupted at 06: 5 a.m. at Kalaroos and spread in two engulfed upper stories of two buildings. Three shops—two of them dealing with readymade garments and other a tailoring shop—besides three other rooms housing office of Sheep Husbandry Department were completely even as fire and service department “tried its best” to douse off the flames. A police official confirming the incident said that a case has been registered and investigations have been launched. “So far cause of fire has not been established,” he added.
