Srinagar, Mar 10: One more militant has been killed in an encounter with government forces at Kanidpora area of Bijbhera in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Thursday.

The operation was suspended late last night due to darkness and resumed with the first light of the day, officials said.

The encounter had ensued after joint team of police and army launched a joint cordon and search operation in the village amid specific information about the presence of the militants.

As the joint team approached the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them, triggering off the gunfight. While two JeM militants have been, searches are going on, they said. Internet services in the south Kashmir continue to be suspended.
