Ganderbal, Mar 2: Police on Tuesday arrested three timber smugglers in Kangan area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district, officials said.
“Acting on a tip-off about the timber smuggling at the specified location, Police party of Kangan led by SHO Kangan under the close supervision of SDPO Kangan Yasir Qadri arrested three timber smugglers,” a police official said.
The arrested oersons have been identified as Mohammad Yousuf Thakrey, Nazir Ahmad Thakrey and Showket Ahmad Baniya, all Residents of Mamer Dard Wooder Kangan. In this connection a case (FIR No. 07/2021) under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Kangan and investigation has been taken up, the official added.
