64 Fresh Covid-19 Cases, No Death Due To Virus In Jammu and Kashmir

Srinagar, Jan 25: Eighteen travelers were among 64 more novel coronavirus cases reported in Jammu and Kashmir even as no death due to the virus took place in the last 24 hours, officials said on Monday. Among the fresh cases, the officials told GNS that 25 were from Jammu Division and 39 from Kashmir Valley, taking the overall tally to 124083. Giving district-wise details, they said, Srinagar reported 22 cases, Baramulla 1, Budgam 1, Pulwama 7, Kupwara 3, Anantnag 1, Bandipora 0, Ganderbal 3, Kulgam 0, Shopian 1, Jammu 23, Udhampur 1, Rajouri 0, Doda 0, Kathua 0, Samba 0, Kishtwar 0, Poonch 0, Ramban 1 and Reasi 0. There was no death report due to the virus for the 2nd running day and it was for first time after more than seven and half months that no one fatality took place for as many consecutive days. 1929 people died due to the virus so far—1210 in Valley and 719 in Jammu division. Srinagar district with 453 deaths tops the list followed by Jammu (370), Baramulla (173), Budgam (117), Kupwara (95), Pulwama (88), Anantnag (84), Doda (64), Bandipora (61), Udhampur (57), Kulgam (54), Rajouri (55), Kathua (51), Ganderbal (46), Shopian (39), Samba (39), Poonch (24), Ramban (21), Kishtwar(22), and Reasi (15). Meanwhile, the officials said, 83 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals— 17 from Jammu Division and 66 from Kashmir Valley. The number of active cases stands at 1084 in the J&K—412 in Jammu and 672 in Kashmir while 121070 patients have so far recovered from the infection, the officials added.
