144 Fresh Covid-19 Cases In J&K, Samples Of 2 Persons From Srinagar Return Negative For UK Strain

Srinagar, Jan 15: Eighteen travelers and a paramilitary CRPF man were among 144 fresh covid-19 cases reported in Jammu and Kashmir in the last 24 hours. Also, the two persons who had flown into Kashmir Valley earlier this month and were found positive for covid-19 have tested negative for the UK strain of the virus.
“Their samples were sent outside for testing recently and both have tested negative for new UK strain but are ‘normal’ covid positive,” an official said.
Meanwhile, among the fresh cases, officials said, 60 are from Jammu Division and 80 from Kashmir Valley, taking the total tally in J&K to 123108.
Giving district-wise details, they said, Srinagar reported 40 cases, Baramulla 2, Budgam 2, Pulwama 3, Kupwara 3, Anantnag 6, Bandipora 2, Ganderbal 10, Kulgam 3, Shopian 9, Jammu 46, Udhampur 2, Rajouri 0, Doda 0, Kathua 1, Samba 9, Kishtwar 0, Poonch 1, Ramban 5 and Reasi 0.
Most of the cases were confirmed at the diagnostic laboratories of CD, SKIMS Soura and GMC Anantnag hospitals.
The CD cases include two females (28, 30) from Nowshera, male (25) from Saderbal, male (55) and female (65) from NA, male (38) from Gulshanabad, male (55) and two females (20, 10) from Gang Batagund, two females (40, 17) from Nawakadal Srg, male (65) from Kupwara, female (40) from Shopian, male (55) and female (65) from Bemina, female (50) from Yousmarg Budgam.
The Srinagar cases include female (50) from Illahibagh, male (27) from Rawalpora, male (75) from Bemina S D A, male (82) from Ali Jan Road, female (37) from Main Hyderabad Srinagar.
The Ganderbal cases include female (75) from Saloora, male (31) from Yarmuqam, male (68) from Kondbal Ganderbal.
The Kupwara cases include male (70) from Gundi Gujran Kupwara.
The CRPF cases include male (51) from 73 Bn Crpf Bemina Srinagar
The GMC Anantnag cases include female (47) from Zawoora.
Moreover 179 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals—111 from Jammu Division and 68 from Kashmir Valley. The number of active cases has reduced to 1428 in J&K.
