Due to freezing temperatures many water bodies in the Valley, including the world-famous Dal Lake have frozen
Some people, particularly youth and children walked and played on the frozen waters of Dal Lake, despite warnings against moving on the thin layer of ice. The officials say it is very risky and can result in slips, falls, fractures and fatal injuries.  It can also result in drowning.
