Srinagar, Dec 24: Two militants were killed in a gunfight in Wanigam Payeen area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Thursday.
Official sources said that after eight hours into cordon-and-search-operation searches in Wanigam area, the militants were tracked and subsequently “contact established”. During exchange of firing two militants were killed, they said. As per the sources slain militants have been identified as Abrar alias Langoo from Pakistan and Amir Siraj from Sopore, however official confirmation is yet to come. Amir had gone missing on 24th June this year and was said to be an ace footballer. Earlier in the morning some speculative fires were also shot towards the suspected spot, however there was no response from militants. When this report was filed, firing was going on.
