Baseer Khan reviews issues of Samba and Kathua IEs

Jammu: The Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Baseer Ahmad Khan today directed the officers of the Power Development Department to settle the power issues of the Industrial Estates(IEs) in Jammu, particularly in Samba and Kathua, so that industrial sector does not face any in convenience vis – a vis power and other related issues.
The Advisor made these remarks while chairing a meeting to review the issues being faced by the industrial estates of Samba and Kathua here today.
Director Industries and Commerce, Jammu, Managing Director SIDCO, Managing Director SICOP, Chief Engineers of PDD participated in the meeting.
It was informed that some industrial estates like Ghatti and Basholi are facing several power related issues.
The Advisor said that power remains one of the core prerequisites of the industrial sector and directed the officers to work in a close coordination to ensure that these are mitigated at an earliest. He further directed the officers that they should make a joint visit to the locations to remove the bottlenecks’ if any, and hold regular meetings in this regard with all the stakeholders.
Regarding the power issues at Ghatti, the CE informed that grid station is likely to be commissioned and the laying of towers will be started as soon as acquisition of land takes place. The CE further informed that receiving station will be completed upto January which is ahead of its deadline.
The Advisor directed the officers to take up the relevant matter with the concerned authorities and remove all the roadblocks to ensure smooth resolution of all the issues.
