Srinagar, Oct 28: Two Jaish-e-Muhammad militants were killed while an army soldier was injured in a gunfight in Mouchwa area of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Wednesday.
A senior Police officer however said the identity of the slain militant was yet to be ascertained.
The encounter ensued last night after a joint team of Police and army’s 50RR launched a cordon and search operation in the area.
As the joint team of forces approached the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off the gunfight.
The operation was halted due to darkness and resumed this morning, they added.
