Rs 65000 fine slapped on Brick Kiln owners in Pulwama

Pulwama, Sept 18: A team comprising Assistant Controller Legal Metrology and officials from Revenue Department today slapped a fine of Rs. 65,000 against few brick kiln owners who were found involved in selling bricks at exorbitant rates.
Acting upon the instructions given by Deputy Commissioner Pulwama, Dr Raghav Langer the team conducted a surprise visit of brick kiln units which were allegedly selling bricks at exorbitant rates.
Pertinent to mention here that DC Pulwama vide his office order No. 67 DCP /Brick Kilns/2020 dated14 .09.2020 has fixed rate of bricks as 21000 per 3000 bricks including all taxes except transportation.
The team while inspecting and recording the statement of complainant came to conclusion that few brick kiln owners were found involved in overcharging thus violating orders issued by Deputy Commissioner Pulwama.
The team imposed penalty on spot against the violators and said that strict action as per law shall follow.
The district Administration Pulwama has appealed to the general public to approach his office to register complaints if any, against those brick kiln owners who are violating government approved rates.
