Srinagar: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Shafqat Iqbal today visited Rangil, to inspect the patch of land measuring 18 Kanals to be developed as a play field.
The play field is to be developed for both SKUAST (Faculty of Fisheries) and locals to resolve the long pending dispute between them.
After a brief deliberation among the officials of SKUAST, Revenue Department and locals and non-availability of alternative land in the village that could have been developed as playground, the DC amicably resolved the issue and said that the playground shall be developed on the same patch of land and shall be jointly used by the SKUAST and local youth for sports activities.
On the occasion, the DC directed the RDD to take all necessary initiatives for the development of playground like fencing from all sides, ground leveling, separate gates for local youth and SKUAST. Besides, the existing school building shall be fenced separately.
Meanwhile, the DC also inspected the progress of work on the Pandach-Beehama Road widening where some of the issues were resolved on spot and the executing agency was asked to expedite the pace of work.
The DC was accompanied by ACR, ACD, Tehsildar Ganderbal. Besides, concerned BDC Chairperson, Sarpanch, officials from SKUAST and locals were also present on the occasion.
