Srinagar: The Srinagar-Jammu highway, the only road connecting Kashmir valley with the outside world, was again closed on Monday due to fresh landslides and shooting stones, triggered by heavy rains, at several places along the thoroughfare.
“The traffic on the highway was suspended due to fresh landslides and shooting stones at Penthyal and other places in Ramban,” a traffic police official said today.
Once the shooting stone and landslides stop, road clearance operation would start, the official added. The thoroughfare was opened only recently after remaining suspended for more than four days due to landslides and shooting stones at several places in the Ramban district.
