Nowgam attack: 2 cops killed, another injured

Srinagar, August 14: Two policemen were killed and another injured as militants attacked a police party in this Central Kashmir district on Friday.
Official sources said that the militants fired upon the police party near Nowgam, injuring three cops who were shifted to the nearby police hospital. However, they said, two of them succumbed to grave injuries.
A police officer confimed the killing of the policemen in the attack. He identified the slain duo as
Ishfaq Ayoub and Fayaz Ahmad, both from IRP’s 20 batallion. While Ayoub had bullet wounds on right side of chest and leg, Fayaz had injuries on the right thigh, he said. The injured has been identified as Mohammad Ashraf and he has bullet injuries on the right hand.
Meanwhile the whole area has been cordoned off to nab attackers.
