Srinagar, July 14: A 60-year-old covid-19 patient from Baramulla district died at a hospital here on Tuesday, taking the fatality count due to the virus in Jammu and Kashmir to 189.
A resident of Nadihal area of the northern Kashmir district, the sexagenarian man died at SKIMS Soura, nine days after he was admitted to the tertiary care hospital.
“He was a case of HTN, T2DM, CKD, ESRD, (bilateral community acquired pneumonia (CAP),” Professor Farooq Jan, Medical Superintendent of the hospital, said. “He expired at around 4:00 a.m. today,” Professor Jan added.
With his death, 172 people in Kashmir and 17 in Jammu have died so far due to the covid-19.
Srinagar district with 46 deaths has the highest fatalities followed by Baramulla (36), Kulgam (21), Shopian (16), Anantnag (14), Budgam (14), Jammu (10), Kupwara (11), Pulwama (6), Bandipora (3), Ganderbal (4) and Doda (2) while one death each has been reported from Poonch, Udhampur, Rajouri and Kathua.
