Srinagar, July 12: Three militants were killed in a gunfight with a joint team of police, army and CRPF in Reban Sopore area of Baramulla district, officials said.
“Three unidentified (militants) were killed. Incriminating materials including arms and ammunition recovered,” police said, adding, “Search going on. Further details shall follow.”
Earlier, a joint team of Police, Army’s 22 RR and CRPF launched a cordon-and-search-operation in Reban.
As the joint team encircled the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them. The fire was retaliated by the joint team, triggering off an encounter.
