Ganderbal: District Development Commissioner Ganderbal Shafqat Iqbal on Monday convened a meeting with BDC Chairpersons and Rural Development Department functionaries to review the progress of development works under MGNREGA/ 14th FC, SBM, etc.besides Covid-19 related issues and other issues concerning the PRI’s. The meeting was attended by BDC Chairpersons, ADC Ganderbal, CPO Ganderbal, ACD Ganderbal, DPO Ganderbal, BDOs and various other officers/officials. In the onset the BDC chairpersons of each block apprised the DDC about the issues/grievances pertaining to Covid-19 tackling measures, B2V-works, development and up gradation of roads, Irrigation, education and various other demands of public importance. DDC patiently listened to their issues/grievances and assured them earliest possible redressal. He also said that district administration will extend full support and co-operation in mitigating each and every impediment faced by BDC chairpersons in carrying out developmental works in the district. While discussing Covid-19 tackling measures, DDC also sought the co-operation of BDC Chairpersons in confronting Covid-19 by creating awareness on grass root level to follow the SOPs and government guidelines and urging people to adopt the culture of wearing face masks and maintaining personal hygiene. The meeting also discussed progress of uploading of 15th FC Plan on eGramswaraj portal, completion of Panchayat Ghars, geo-tagging of 14th FC works and FTO Generation under MGNREGA/14th FC etc.
While reviewing the physical and financial achievements made under MGNREGA and 14th FC, the DDC stressed on improving performance and adhering to the timeline for completing the targets, besides keeping in consideration the related health advisories especially maintaining social distancing and using safety gears while working on the projects.
