Srinagar: Police on Thursday said that a militant was killed in gunfight in Meej Pampore area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district. “So far one unidentified (militant) killed. Operation (is) going on. Further details shall follow,” police said in a tweet.
Reports reaching said that a joint team of Police, Army’s 50 RR and CRPF launched a cordon-and-search-operation in Meej Pampore.
As the joint team of government forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them. The fire was retaliated by the joint team, triggering off an encounter.
