Ganderbal, June 06: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Ganderbal, Shafqat Iqbal today convened a meeting to review the progress and implementation of various schemes, resumed amid COVID-19 lockdown and executed by Rural Development Department (RDD).
During the meeting the DC sought details from the concerned officers with regard to timely payments for stage-I under MGNREGA and discussed the progress of various schemes under execution of RDD like PMAY, MGNREGA besides progress of works approved under B2V and 14TH FC.
He also sought the details of works completed as well as works under execution block wise.
The BDOs briefed the DC about the physical and financial achievements pertaining to their concerned blocks.
While reviewing the performances, the DC directed the BDOs to share work done report on daily basis with DC office and compensate time lost due to lockdown amid COVID-19.
He fixed targets to all BDOs and stressed on greater transparency in implementation of developmental works under various schemes besides making judicious use of funds.
The DC directed all BDOs to accelerate the pace of work in their respective areas and stressed on adoption of more innovative methods in various schemes and involvement of common masses in the development process so that the set targets are achieved well in time.
He enjoined upon BDOs for timely payment of wages to laborers besides ensuring all SOPs are followed by the workers related to COVID-19 including maintaining social distancing, wearing face masks and frequent hand washing.
The meeting was attended by ADC, Farooq Ahmad Baba, ACD, CPO, DPO, Executive Engineer REW, BDOs and other concerned.
