Srinagar: A policeman has been injured in a gunfight which started overnight between militants and a joint team of police and paramilitary CRPF in Nawa Kadal area of Srinagar, officials said.
“The operation was launched on a credible police input last night in Kanemazar Nawakadal Srinagar. Some exchange of fire took place during the night. One Police SOG personnel injured,” police said. “Firing resumed during a search in the morning and the operation continues,” it added in a tweet on the official handle.
Meanwhile, both mobile phone and internet services have been snapped in Srinagar, sources said.
