2 persons slip from Khag forests, die

Srinagar: Two persons died on Tuesday after they slipped from forests area of Nagbal in Khag area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
Station House Officer (SHO) Khag Gowhar Gul told a local news agency that the duo namely Mushtaq Ahmad Wani (45) son of Ghulam Hassan Wani and Abdul Rashid Shah (50) son of Ghulam Ahmad Shah, both residents of Nagbal, had gone to the Dadnard forest area- the upper reaches of Nagbal for collecting the Morel Mushroom Spores (Guesh).
As per reports received by the locals of the area, the duo slipped from the mountainous region and rolled down into the gorge, SHO said. The officer said that the both the persons, residents of Nagbal died on the spot.
The police officer said that after conducting all medico-legal formalities the bodies of the deceased were handed over to legal heirs for last rites.
“Inquest proceedings under 174 CrPc has been registered and further investigations were taken up in this connection,” the SHO added.
