Round up: 2 militants killed, 3 CRPF personnel injured

Srinagar: Two militants were killed minutes after they abducted a railway policeman at Yaripora area of Kulgam in south Kashmir on Friday evening, police said. Earlier three CRPF men were injured in a grenade blast in Budgam district of central Kashmir
Director-General of Police J&K Dilbagh Singh told local news agency that both the militants (abductors) were killed in the brief gunfight. He said that the cop who was abducted is safe now.
One policeman, however, sustained bullet wound in his arm, the DGP said.
Inspector-General of Police Kashmir Range, Vijay Kumar (IPS) further divulging the details said that militants abducted a railway police personnel at Shirpora village following which an immediate cordon was launched by a joint team of police and army. Soon militants were chased at Kharpora leading to a brief gunfight in which both of them were killed while a policeman was injured.
“The joint team successfully rescued the abducted cop,” the IGP added.
Meanwhile, three CRPF men from 29 battalion were injured in a grenade blast at Duniwari area of the Chadoora. The injured were removed to ta hospital even as the strengthened posse of CRPF and police cordoned off the area immediately. One of the injured is an inspector while two others are constables, the CRP spokesman said.
