Jammu: Fire, apparently due to short-circuit, damaged laboratory block of Sri Maharaja Gulab Singh (SMGS) Hospital in Jammu on Wednesday night, officials said.
They said flames were noticed at around 9 p.m. following which an alarm was sounded. Soon fire tenders reached the spot and brought the flames under control, they said.
A police officer said that preliminary investigations point out to short circuit even as real cause of fire would be known after investigations are complete.
He said the laboratory block of the hospital has suffered damage. “Assessment about total loss would be worked out in due course of time,” he said.
