Covid-19: Govt flip-flops on relief fund request

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir government has issued an account number for making donations towards the efforts being undertaken to mitigate the spread of COVID-19.
“Various organizations/individuals are approaching the government at different levels, expressing their desire for making donations towards the efforts being undertaken to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. All such contributions can be made towards J&K Relief Fund,” reads a statement issued by the government.
The statement was modified from the one issued earlier which read: “The Country is facing an unprecedented challenge with communities and economies everywhere affected by the growing COVID-19 pandemic. The world is coming together to combat the COVID-19 pandemic bringing governments, organizations from across industries and sectors and individuals together to help respond to this global outbreak. Please support and donate towards J&K Relief Fund.”
