Covid-19: Govt to hire retired doctors for 1-year to serve in ‘underserved’ areas

Srinagar: Government on Tuesday decided to hire retired doctors against vacancies on contract for one year for fighting coronavirus in “underserved areas”.
The decision w taken in an emergency meeting of Advisory Council chaired by Lieutenant Governor Girish Chandra Murmu, Principal Secretary, Planning & Development & Information, Rohit Kansal informed.
Kansal, who is also a government spokesman, announced that GMC Jammu has been declared as a dedicated COVID hospital for Jammu province and shall be readied by Wednesday evening.
