Srinagar, March 23: Police have arrested five militant associates and recovered a large number of arms and ammunition from them in Keran sector of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, reports and officials said on Monday.
They said five militant aides were arrested by police in Sopore and during their sustained questioning, the arrested persons disclosed a location in Keran from where “war-like storage” was recovered.
The recoveries include eight AK assault rifles, nine pistols, one thousand AK rounds, and seventy hand grenades during the search operation in the area. (With inputs from newsgathering agencies)
