District Level Review Committee meeting held in Srinagar

SRINAGAR: The District Level Review Committee of Srinagar Sunday reviewed the performance of banks up to the second quarter of the current 2019-20 fiscal in the district.

Senior functionaries of banks operating in the district and officers of concerned government departments and agencies participated in the meeting. Lead District Manager Srinagar and LDO RBI and DDM NABARD were also present.

The meeting was informed that by the end of the second quarter of 2019-20 fiscal the district has achieved credit flow of Rs. 2580 crore which includes Rs. 953 crore to the priority sector.

Besides this it was informed that Rs. 1386 crore has been sanctioned to 359 beneficiaries under various government sponsored schemes.

It was informed that as part of the Financial Inclusion campaign launched by the Government of India for achieving 100 percent penetration of social security schemes, 42 awareness camps were conducted across the district in gram sabhas and bank branches.

During the meeting the functionaries were urged to ensure benefits of various schemes flow to beneficiaries without trouble. Importance of proper handholding and empathetic approach to transform the lives of deserving people through economic upliftment and employment generation programmes was emphasised.

The need for promoting self-employment by way of encouraging startups and accelerating the skill development mission through various agencies like DIC, KVIB, RSETI among others was also stressed in the meeting.

During the meeting it was informed that land has been allocated for establishing a Rural Self Employment Training Institute or RSETI in the district adding that construction of the building would start soon.

On the occasion the NABARD’s Potential Linked Plan or PLP for 2020-21 for the district – envisaging credit flow of Rs. 4122 crore to priority sector during the next fiscal – was also unveiled.
