This follows round-the-clock efforts of the Srinagar administration with Power Development Department officials braving odds manoeuvring through snow heaps and around fallen trees and broken branches to fix the damaged infrastructure.

Efforts are afoot and it is expected that the Bakshipora receiving station which remains uncharged will also be through soon.

It should be noted that Downtown being the most populous in the district was amongst the first areas in Srinagar where power was restored. The other areas where power was restored first were those where important installations like hospitals are located.
