DC Srinagar conducts extensive tour of Downtown

SRINAGAR: Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary along with Commissioner SMC Khurshid Sanai Sunday conducted an extensive tour of Downtown visiting various areas to assess availability of essential services and obtain public feedback.

The DC inspected snow-clearance of lanes and by-lanes, restoration of power and water supplies, response of health institutions, ration supply and availability of fuel and LPG in Khanyar, Rainawari, Hazratbal, Eidgah, Hawal, Kathidarwaza among other areas.

He interacted with the locals who expressed satisfaction with efforts of the administration for earliest restoration of power supply in Downtown where the same was done within 24 hours after it stopped snowing.

The DC also inspected the developmental scenario and concerns of these areas. He discussed various areas of concern including transportation, traffic management, fire and emergency facilities among others.

Later he also visited several areas of Tehsil North including Nishat and Harwan to oversee the restoration of essential services in the area. Tehsildar North Dr Haroon Rashid briefed him about the status of essential supplies.

Dr Shahid also visited various other city areas including Rajbagh, Sanatnagar, Hyderpora, Bagh-e-Mehtab, Chanpora and Natipora for ground assessment of availability of essential services and condition of public infrastructure.

Senior officers from PWD, MED, SMC, Health, PDD, Revenue, Police and other departments also accompanied the DC on the occasion.
