Cloudburst in Tral damages house, school, washes away road

Tral: A cloudburst in the wee hours of Saturday damaged a residential house, school and road in Hajan village in Tral area of southern Pulwama district.
The cloudburst, officials said, also damaged water supply and electricity lines at certain places.
“A residential house and a school building were partially damaged, main road to Hajin Naad has been washed away at various spots, water supply lines are affected, and electricity transmission lines stand affected at certain places,”said an official, adding, “The extent of damage is being assessed”.
A team of officials, he said, has been sent to the area and all the concerned departments were asked to rush on spot by the administration.
Last week, cloudburst hit Bradi Angan area of Tral upper reaches (some 40 kilometers from Sub District Headquarter Tral), in which over hundred sheep and goats were killed.
