Srinagar: Five zonal superintendents of Jammu and Kashmir police in District Srinagar has been ordered to provide the list of mosques, its management committees and ideological affiliations.
An order passed in this regards reads: “Please provide details of mosques and their managements falling without your respective jurisdictions as per enclosed proforma to this office immediately for onward submission to higher authorities.”
The order is issued by the Srinagar senior superintendent of police to the zonal SPs on Sunday night.
Police has been asked to provide the name of mosque, its chairman, location, who is the imam and what is the ideological affiliation of the mosque.
They have been ordered to submit the date by July 29 ‘for onward submission to higher authorities’.
