Basharat Rashid
Tral: In the absence of a bridge, Gujjar students of Bangidar village of this south Kashmir use a log to cross a gushing nallah to reach school every day.
The alleged indifference of the authorities to address their long pending demand make the travel to school a risky affair particularly during rains which poses more threat to them for varied reasons particularly the water flows with gushing speed and renders the log slippery. They said the district administration has failed to mitigate their sufferings despite repeated requests from the villagers.
“Whenever it rains, the makeshift bridge (log) becomes slippery, due to which it becomes risky to cross the nallah,” said a student.
Talking to INS News, they demanded that the bridge be constructed over the Nallah as the absence of connectivity is always creating inconveniences among the residents of Bangidar village.
Naib Tehsilsar, Aripal Tehsil, Mohammad Afzal Mir, told INS that he has already discussed the issue with Additional Deputy Commissioner and said that they are making every effort to construct a bridge in the area.
