Sopore: Police on Wednesday claimed to have arrested notorious timber smuggler  along with two associates and seized illegal timber from  Nikey Bahak Takiya Panzlla area in Rafiabad region of Sopore here.

According to police they had received a ‘reliable input about illegal timber i.e Deodar which was later sized from compartment no.38 of the Panzla area.

“The deodar was to be smuggled to urban areas,” police said.

They said that they ‘arrested a notorious smuggler Mushtaq Ahmad Kumar @sahba S/O Siobhan Kumar along with Mohammad Yousef Kumar S/O Sonaullah Kumar and Ghulam Hassan Khan S/O Sayeen Khan R/O Takiya Panzla.’

In this regard case FIR NO. 54/2019 U/S 379 RPC and 6 Forest Act has been registered in Police Station Panzla.
