Pulwama: Stone quarry workers in Pampore area of Pulwama are up in arms against Geology & Mining department for not allowing them to continue their stone quarry work in the area.

Reports said that they were earlier asked to stop work till further orders by the G&M department ten months back due to which all the labourers associated with quarrying are ‘deprived of their livelihood’.

A group of labourers in Nagandar village of Khrew area in Pampore town said that they are jobless from past ten months and have no other source to feed their families.

“We were directed to make documents to continue further routine work, but despite showing documents to the authorities concerned, stone quarry work to the labourers are yet to be allowed back,” they complained.
