Gunmen kill PSO of PDP Chief Coordinator in South Kashmir, snatch his rifle

Srinagar: Unknown gunmen, suspected to be militants, shot dead a policeman, posted as Personal Security Officer (PSO) of senior PDP leader Mufti Sajad, in Bejbhera area in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Friday.
Reports said that the gunmen fired upon the PSO, Farooq Ahmad Mir of Khiram, Anantnag in chest as Mufti Sajjad was performing Friday prayers. He was immediately shifted to Sub district hospital Bejbhera where doctors declared him brought dead.
A police officer also confirmed the incident and said that an AK-47 of the cop was also snatched by the militants.
Soon after the incident the whole area has been cordoned off to nab the attackers. Mufti Sajjad, who is PDP’s chief coordinator, was offering prayers along with his father Mufti Mohammad Amin in the local mosque.
