Kupwara: Group of Sarpanchs and panchs on Saturday afternoon held protest demonstration against  District Administration Kupwara for failing to  sanction Block Development Officer for Trehgam block.
Protesters alleged that the failure to sanction BDO  has brought all the developmental works to complete halt.
Eyewitnesses said that the protesters assembled near Block Development Office Trehgam and blocked Chowkibal-Trehgam road.
“Almost three months ago BDO was given additional charge to handle our block as well, but he has not shown up for a single day at the office,” protesters claimed.
They alleged that they were made to wait from 10 am to 3 pm for a meeting with Deputy Commissioner Kupwara.
They were not allowed to meet the DC, they claimed.
“Block Development Office Trehgam will remain closed unless new BDO is assigned the work,” they said.
Protesters said that Trehgam Block consists of areas like, Kunan Poshpora, Hayen, Gugloosa and Babgund.
