Baramulla: Residents of Kanispora Baramulla on Friday staged a protest demonstration against the Municipal Council for establishing a garbage dump in the area.

Scores of residents including women blocked Srinagar-Muzaffarabad highway to highlight the issue.

“The garbage dump in Chopan Mohalla at Kanispora Baramulla is only to create inconvenience to the people especially school going children,” the protesters said.

Officials at the MC Baramulla have assured that issue will be solved soon.
