Ganderbal: A woman was killed in a road accident at Lar area of this central Kashmir’s district, police said on Sunday.

A police official said Khatija Begum (50) wife of Ghulam Ahmad Lone of Watlar Ganderbal died when an Alto car (JK16-5727) hit her near bus stand Watlar.

She was rushed to nearby hospital where from she was referred to SKIMS Soura for advanced treatment. She however succumbed to the grave injuries on Sunday.

The official said that a case has been registered in police station Lar and vehicle has been seized. The driver of the car has been arrested and further investigation has been taken up.
