Kupwara: Over two thousand teachers are waiting disbursement of their salaries since five months in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district
“Teachers at Zone, Chamkote, Kralpora, Trehgam and Sogam are suffering for want of their salaries as the seats of DDO’s continue to remain vacant,” an official told INS.
Teachers said that  no concrete measure was initiated to ease the sufferings of teachers, despite them attending classes regularly.
District President Teachers Forum claimed that out of five months, one month salary has been released against Headteachers and  RET’s are made to suffer which ‘seems deliberate attempt of authorities’.

“We have almost 85 High schools without Heads result of which students as well  teachers are facing serious inconvenience,” they claimed.
“We have written to Director School Education of Kashmir for approval  of same since it can’t be done without DDO so we are waiting for approval from DSEK, accordingly salaries will be disbursed,” Chief Education Officer kupwara Shafi Nabi War said.
